“I’m sorry Apple, your iPod classic just doesn’t store enough media…”

Imagine a 500,000Gb MP3 player

According to a post on Digital Trends: The 500,000GB MP3 player website, Glasgow scientists have discovered a breakthrough in nanotechnology that could potentially mean increasing MP3 data storage by at least 150,000 times the current high-end players.

“Molecule sized switches would lead to increasing data storage to say 4 Petabits per square inch” Professor Lee Cronin at the University of Glasgow said.

Whether or not we’ll actually see this technology remains to be seen - but just how long it would take you to get through your playlist? The rest of your life?
