So you’re in the market for a new mobile phone, you’d love a digital camera too – but how can you afford both?

As with the Nokia N95, you really don’t know whether to call it a “flashy” mobile phone or a “phoney” camera.  With it’s high tech smartphone features and 5 megapixel camera, you can snag both in the one gadget!

Features:

  • Large colour touch screen with vibrating feedback
  • 5 Mp camera with xenon flash, autofocus and heaps of camera settings
  • HSPDA enabled
  • MP3 player and FM Radio
  • Office .doc .xls and .ppt viewer (no edit)

Pro’s:

Large screen, easy to use.  The 5Mp camera rocks – and the flash is brighter than the Nokia N95s but perhaps not quite as good on the output.  Upload content straight to YouTube and Flickr.

Con’s:

  • No Wi-Fi
  • Lens not covered
  • No 3.5mm headphone port
  • Attached stylus a bit *blingy* (targetting only the female market?)

So far overall I am extremely happy with my new viewty.. battery is performing well despite what I have read about them. One thing that has been left out of the CON’s is the calendar. If you think you are going to syncronise you calandar appointments..think again. Maximum of 100 entries (even with the 2GB card) is not acceptable. That means after a week or two you need to start deleting entries before you can add new ones. What a crock! Also the shuffle function is great if you like any imported ringtones and alarm sounds thrown in the mix. qwerty KB is not available to make calander appointment entries. Such simple additions would make this phone great. But until LG make some tweaks to thier software it falls well short of being great. Flashy looking but lacking in function.
