“LG back in the Arena with new touchscreen mobile phone”
This week, LG launched the Arena (KM900) smartphone into the Australian market. It is their latest touch screen offering, available initially only at Vodafone. Optus and Telstra at a later date.
Here’s a sneak peek…

Recognise it?
Well, you could be forgiven for thinking it looks somewhat similar to LG’s Viewty, but it does have a few standout features in the ongoing battle to “outdo the iPhone“, (see PC Authoritycomparisons).
If you like crisp sound, then the Dolby Mobile surround sound might get you excited. At least now if you want to annoy fellow commuters by watching movies, the sound will be good
If you like something different, check out the cube interface home screens (four cube-shaped rotating home screens, each one can be activated with a single touch). I’ll leave it to users to decide if the menu interface and options are easy or not.

Other features:
3-inch WVGA (480×800) display
5 Mp camera, with auto focus and LED flash
Standard 3.5mm audio jack
DVD quality DivX video support
WiFi
Assisted GPS
FM tuner / transmitter
3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps connectivity
Supports Google mobile service

A couple of features the iPhone may still have over it though, are, better browsing and of course, the apps store.
The go-to manual for all things iPod. Whether you’re interested in what other iPod users are using, the accessories they’re buying, how to buy and sell, or just want to find out what colour the iPod was back in 2004, then the iLounge guide is a very handy download.

As I’ve mentioned before, my favourite songs change all the time. Perhaps I have an addictive (and fickle) personality?!
Bob Evans
Bob Evans (aka Kevin Mitchell from Jebediah) has just released his third album, Goodnight Bull Creek.
As with his first two, since first listening when Triple J featured it, I’ve been a little hooked. I’m not able to list just one song from the album, as so far, the “best” keeps changing as I learn each new song.
However, for the sake of this post, here’s a sneak peek of his first single released from the album:
