Making a mobile stand to watch your videos

Office days can be tedious.  Sure, you could spend them working, but why not show your boss your flare for ingenuity, resourcefulness and problem-solving in a slightly different way.

“How?” you ask

By using available office stationery to make a versatile stand to watch videos at your desk on your mobile phone, iPod classic or iPod touch – whatever digital gadget floats your boat.

Now, the trick is in how you market the time and resources spent to your boss.  Perhaps you should download one of his instructional marketing tutorials from YouTube (yawn).

Originally for the iPhone, but very easily adapted to suit whatever digital gadget you use…

Check out these posts for instructions for both:

iPod and MP3 sales down for Xmas

Favoured Christmas gifts not iPods this year

Stats show that iPods and MP3s don’t hit the top of the online gift list this year.  OZtion and other online stores advise that their iPod and MP3 sales are down significantly this year.

Not so for the Nintendo DS, which took out #2 on the list (just behind console games).

Mobile phones come in at #4 — wonder if that includes the iPhone?

See what else is high on the Xmas gift list this year – maybe it will help you decide on last minute gift ideas?

Germs on your mobile phone and MP3

Is your mobile phone, MP3 or iPod making you sick?

Source: Connected Women

Amongst other electronic devices – laptops, mobile phones and iPods have been identified as a major source of infectious illnesses.

Have you thought about…

  • How many germs and bacteria are on our mobile phones, laptops and iPods?
  • How many people inadvertently sneeze near you and around your office workstation?
  • How many may not regularly wash their hands?

Eeeuuuuwwww……

Tests carried out by Which?, the UK sister organisation of Australia’s CHOICE, found bacteria on keyboards that could cause food poisoning symptoms such as diarrhoea and other stomach upsets.

Would you believe more so than some toilets?

One keyboard had 150 times the recommended limit of bacteria, making it five times filthier than a toilet seat that was swabbed for bacteria in the same test.

Armed with this sickening information, make sure you regularly clean all your digital gadgets, keyboards, screens, monitors.

iKlear by KlearScreen is the world’s my recommended and used cleaning solution.

The iKlear Kit makes the job easy, green, safe and economical.

Oval office a tech-free zone

Obama’s security issue: BlackBerry ban

Imagine having to give up all your technical gadgets – and seemingly step back years in technology advancement … just to take a new job.

Sounds a little backyards doesn’t it?

That’s what Barrack Obama is being told will be a necessity for security purposes.

Obama’s blackberry and Apple ban

The President-elect and ‘geek-in-chief’ isn’t happy at being forced to give up his favourite gadgets once he moves into the Oval Office.

How would you cope?

  • Do you even remember the days before syncing your smartphone with your laptop?
  • Have we become too dependent on gadgets?
  • Do you feel like your arm has been cut off if you accidently leave your mobile phone at home?

Yes, I’m sure most of us can sympathise a little with Obama in this regard.

However, given the technical pioneering he has already shown, I’m sure he’ll find a work-around…
