Please, bury me with my mobile phone

Requests increasing for loved ones to be buried with their favourite digital gadgets

Funeral homes are honouring more and more requests for mobile phones, MP3s and similar gadgets to be included in caskets these days.

It is thought that some loved ones feel more at ease knowing their dearly departed has their favourite digital gadgets buried with them.  In many cases, it is the departed themselves who are making the requests known prior to the time.

Nice, comforting perhaps…

… but not responsible recycling is it?!

Oval office a tech-free zone

Obama’s security issue: BlackBerry ban

Imagine having to give up all your technical gadgets – and seemingly step back years in technology advancement … just to take a new job.

Sounds a little backyards doesn’t it?

That’s what Barrack Obama is being told will be a necessity for security purposes.

Obama’s blackberry and Apple ban

The President-elect and ‘geek-in-chief’ isn’t happy at being forced to give up his favourite gadgets once he moves into the Oval Office.

How would you cope?

  • Do you even remember the days before syncing your smartphone with your laptop?
  • Have we become too dependent on gadgets?
  • Do you feel like your arm has been cut off if you accidently leave your mobile phone at home?

Yes, I’m sure most of us can sympathise a little with Obama in this regard.

However, given the technical pioneering he has already shown, I’m sure he’ll find a work-around…

Blackberry addiction at it’s best – or worst

Addiction of any sort is a sickness that can take over your mind and body.

We’ve spoken about it on here before, whether it’s Internet Addiction or the fast rising problem of Blackberry addiction already, including to the extent that there has been a rise in thumb surgery because of it. Hmmm.

That level of addiction is not just for the Blackberry user however. There was a the shocking story last week about two Spanish children who were actually institutionalised to be treated for mobile phone addiction, as the Telegraph UK reports:

Their parents became concerned that the children, aged 12 and 13, were unable to carry out normal activities without their handsets. They were failing at school and deceiving relatives in an attempt to obtain more money for phone cards.

So, although addiction is not usually something to be taken lightly… when Michael of BBGeeks contacted us with a new commercial-like video they have made about Blackberry addiction, I thought I should share it (below).

Beware – along with seeing the effects of blackberry addiction, you’ll also see a little “crackberry” (slight nudity). It is meant to be light-hearted so please don’t watch if you will be offended.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Thumbs Up for the Blackberry

Or actually, Blackberry related surgeries are up?

In a previous post we warned about Blackberry addiction, now Breitbart.tv are reporting that there has been an increase in surgery and discomfort in “Crackberry addicts” thumbs.

Those addicted are advised to “remember to see your hand specialist”.

Hmmm. Only in the US?
