Australia Day well spent!
Yesterday for many Aussies was spent in close proximity to the stereo for Triple J’s hottest 100 countdown. Did you guess No 1?
I was not at all surprised by Kings of Leon taking out the most coveted no1 position… Them, alongside MGMT and The Presets managed to even snavel two songs each in the Top 10. Well done, especially to The Presets, being local Aussie lads!
Here’s a quick rundown…
Top 10 artists/songs
- Kings of Leon – Sex on Fire
- MGMT – Electric Feel
- Kings of Leon – Use Somebody
- Empire of the Sun – Walking on a Dream
- MGMT – Kids
- The Presets – Talk Like That
- Pez – The Festival Song
- The Presets – This Boy’s in Love
- The Ting Tings – That’s Not My Name
- Drapht – Jimmy Recard
If you want to check out the full listing, listen to the songs, watch live videos, see band photos or party pics, head across to Triple J’s Hottest 100 site.
They even let you know where to purchase ringtones for the Hottest 100 songs.

If you don’t think it would really make that much of a difference in your life … check out the review of last year’s winner on the J’s site. So jealous.

You’re fast running out of time to vote for the best 2007 songs in the Triple J Hottest 100 competition. Entries closed Sunday 20.01.
Even if just supporting and voting for your favourite artists isn’t enough incentive, don’t forget that you also get a crack a “Golden Ticket” – two tickets to any Triple J supported gig or event in 2008.
What I wouldn’t do for that prize… Actually on second thoughts, the more of you who forget to vote surely only makes my chances of winning even better? Forget I mentioned it!
