How to Turn your PC into a TV recorder

If you own a computer that’s running Windows Media Center Edition, or Vista Home Premium or Ultimate then did you know you can turn it into a TV recorder?  Just another way of ensuring you never miss one of your favourite TV shows again..

All you need is the know-how and a couple of bits extra and you’re all set to go!

How?

To take advantage of its inbuilt DVR Media Center software, you can install a $70 capture card in your computer and a bit of freeware third-party software.

Why?

‘Cause then you’ve got all the tools you need to record television shows on your PC using Media Center, extend that Media Center to your Xbox 360, schedule recordings and stream TV over the internet.

“That sounds like a fantastic idea”

How to Finance an Independent Record Label start-up

or, “How to spend your last $US9K financial aid cheque”

I love supporting independent bands and musicians. A fact some of you may (?) already know about me. Well how about this - an Independent Record label…

Undergrad Records is a web-reality show documenting the journey of Patrick Owen, a graduating college student that takes his last financial aid check to start an independent record label.

You can join Patrick on his journey - below is a link to the first chapter.

Episode 1: The introduction

Digg comments:
The show/blog/documentary of a college student that takes his last financial aid check and starts in independent record label. With the way the music industry is heading, is this a good idea? With him using his financial aid check, is it even legal?

Legal? Who’d know. We hope so for his sake.

Where to follow this journey for yourself: www.undergradrecords.tv

You will be shown how - with drive and determination, the gift of the gab and influential contacts - you can double your start-up money almost immediately.

Cya on Oprah Patrick!

Where to download missed TV shows in Australia

It’s finally here Australia: iTunes TV

Apple announced last week that TV shows from the ABC, Seven and Nine networks (along with US-produced programs from The Walt Disney Company’s ABC Studios, Disney Channel and MTV Networks) are now available on the Australian iTunes store.

TV Shows on nano

Get episodes from shows like Desperate Housewives, McLeod’s Daughters, Summer Heights High, Scrubs; or even sports, cartoons and educational programs.

You get to watch 30-second previews before deciding to buy.  You can watch them on your computer or sync them to your iPod.

Shows can be downloaded as early as one day after it airs. Imagine never missing your favourite show again… bliss!

The best part? Not a single commercial! That alone is worth the download fee.

Check out iTunes TV Shows now.

Want other ways to watch missed TV episodes?

Stay tuned for future posts about downloading or streaming TV programs - legally and cost-free.  Updates will be posted here
