Not long ago I received a frantic call from my sister. She’s a principal / teacher of a small school with a composite all-age class.
Now that in itself is a challenge, but that wasn’t the reason for her panic.
Being from a remote location, the kids can sometimes be disadvantaged when it comes to technology. That was to be a thing of the past, given she had recently purchased an Apple iPad and a couple of Apple iPod touchs for class.
“How do I protect the screens from scratches if they’re bumped, god forbid dropped or subjected to the usual classroom hysteria? Help!“
Whilst Apple screens are built quite strong, it was a very valid concern given the kids age from little preschoolers up to 6th class. Just two days into them being in the classroom, there had already been some “incidents” – with one of the iPod touch screens displaying possible battle scars…
Personally I put screen protectors on all my own gadgets – and usually only offer products that include screen protectors, so I’d never thought to source some screen protector kits by themselves. That is, until then … when my big sister put me on the job!
So if you too are surrounded by little ones who love to play iPod touch games, a clutzy partner who always drops your iPhone, or family members wrestling over who’s turn it is on the iPad, get some screen protectors.
They can offer peace of mind, knowing that your very expensive, shiny gadget should still have a touchscreen that you’re able to read – at least for the lifetime of the contract…
Unlike my sister, don’t learn this lesson the hard way!
